A Moment in Peace


Another sketchbook piece. I decided to try out something new which involved toning the paper with pastel. Joy! To my great amazement it was a complete success.

CUTE!!! i wish i had a shell like that, i'd make use of that in school!!

Oh yeah here's the critique: unless the turtle's laying at the very edge of the pond/lake, then you could raise the horizon line farther up, besides the line's too close to the center of the page. And if it were at the edge of the waters, it shouldn't be a straight line.

Excellent designing on the shell of course!! :D

The challenge is definitely hard... let me tell you!

To answer your question, Tony DiTerlizzi used pencil and watercolor on that drawing. Wonderful stuff!! Go check out his website!
